JOB DESCRITION:

Position: Associate / Senior Executive
Domain: Australian Mortgage Underwriting
Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (IST)
Location: Chennai

Responsibilities:

  • Audit loans underwritten by credit officers to ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess financial position, creditworthiness, and adherence to lending guidelines.
  • Evaluate risks associated with loan applications and provide approval or decline decisions.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including brokers and lenders, via calls.
  • Detect potential fraud and ensure accurate documentation review.

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of Responsible Lending Obligations, APRA, and ASIC regulations.
  • Expertise in the 4 Cs of Credit and credit risk analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication and stakeholder management skills with a focus on positive rapport-building.
  • Proficiency in loan origination systems and financial assessment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Pre-underwriting, Loan Processing, Mortgage Underwriting, or Post-Close Underwriting (Australian, USA, or UK Mortgage domains).
  • Proven experience as a Mortgage Underwriter or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of lending regulations in Australia, the USA, or the UK.
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
